Several weeks ago, I awoke to a thick, cold, frozen fog. Although the day had dawned and it was light out, it was impossible to see anything out the window.
Although I could hear the train rolling by, I couldn’t see it in the distance. Although I could hear the horses nickering, I couldn’t see them down at the barn. Although I knew my car was sitting in the driveway only a few feet from the house, it may as well have not been there. Although I got up and let the dog out, I quickly lost sight of her as she dashed into the thick of it.
It was an eerie and somewhat unsettling start to the day.
Have you had moments like this? Perhaps, not the literal fog but that mental fog when you feel like you are unsettled? When you feel like you can’t see clearly or think clearly? When you feel like the clarity that you had about the direction you were going is gone? When you question the reality of your decisions and goals?
It is at those foggy moments, when we doubt. It is when the fog settles over us that we question if our goal is achievable. It is when the haze makes it hard to see our way forward, that we question why we set ourselves on that path. It is when our thinking becomes fuzzy that our fears rise to the surface.
Today, my friends, I encourage you to trust. Trust that the fog is temporary. Trust that the fog will lift. Trust that the haze will burn off. Trust that the path is still there. Trust that the way forward will, once again, become made known to you. Just trust and KEEP MOVING FORWARD!
